Work in Progress: hand-beaded child's dress

*****
Here's a look at the project I'm currently working on - a hand-beaded child's dress:

child's dress with ribbon, lace, and seed beads

First, I sewed lace onto the bottom of the dress because I wanted it to appear a little longer. Next, I sewed a ribbon border along the edges of the neck, sleeves, and hem. I ended up painting the ribbon pearl-gray because I didn't like the original color. After the ribbon was attached, I sewed opaque luster grey seed beads along the edges of the ribbon.

New Work: and so it begins

I'm starting work on a new art project that will include a hand-beaded dress.

I usually work with doll dresses because they're a bit smaller and quicker to bead. The dress I'm working with on this project is larger - it was probably a christening gown or a young child's everyday dress. I'll post more photos as things progress. See you later, gator.
